RECONCILIATION
Rebuilding Trust, Transforming Traditions
Most girls are afraid of going home during school holidays. Some have broken up with their families and became run-aways. Others are afraid of facing the same threat of being married of or circumcised. Therefore, reconciliation with the families and building bridges with the communities are an important part of this project. Awareness workshops during school holidays and meetings with the local authorities create a mutual understanding and gradually starts a change away from these harmful practices.

BRIDGING THE DIVIDE
How we do it
We facilitate safe homecomings and community-wide change through:

Awareness Workshop
Engage families, elders, and local leaders in dialogue.
Alternative Rites of Passage
Replace FGM ceremonies with community celebrations of graduation.
